The United Nations (UN) Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) of the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development were adopted by world leaders at a historic UN Summit. They came into force on 1 January 2016 and are a universal call to action to end poverty and hunger, protect the plant and ensure peaceful, just and inclusive societies free from fear and violence. The 17 goals and related 169 targets guide our choices today to ensure a sustainable future for generations to come.
We are joining efforts to take the bold and transformative steps which are urgently needed to shift the world on to a sustainable and resilient path. PortXL’s work is aligned with the UN Sustainable Development Agenda and wishes to tangibly contribute to the SDGs. Each challenge we contribute to solve must contribute to at least one goal, in particular, the goals that are of direct relevance to the maritime and ocean agendas.
